ConvertKit Launches Industry-First: Publicly Rebranding from ConvertKit to Kit
ConvertKit, the leading marketing platform for creators used by Tim Ferriss, Andrew Huberman, and more than 640,000 other creators, is betting big on the future of the creator economy with a rebrand from ConvertKit to Kit.
In an industry-first move, ConvertKit is embarking on a radically transparent approach of rebranding in public. This bold step is in line with their core values of “work in public” and “teach everything you know.”
The rebrand aims to set new standards for transparency and customer engagement in the tech world, led by an 80-person, one-hundred percent remote company that generates $41MM in annual recurring revenue.
Founded in 2013, the company included “Convert” in its name during early years when the focus was on helping creators convert traffic into email subscribers. Since then, the platform has grown far beyond its original function and offers features to help creators connect, grow, automate, create, launch, earn, and more.
ConvertKit will formally launch as “Kit” later this year as part of its commitment to become the premier marketing platform for all creators – writers, podcasters, YouTubers, TikTokers, livestreamers, and more.
The company invites both their users and the public to join them in their transparent journey from ConvertKit to Kit with a:
Public-facing brand redesign process: Live-streamed design sessions and prototype reviews to involve their community at critical junctures.
Behind-the-scenes decision-making and milestones: Publicly shared timelines and progress updates, including unveiling logo iterations and brand assets.
Public tell-all of decisions, prototypes, and more: Deeper insights into the what and why that is driving changes during the rebrand.
During Craft + Commerce (Kit’s annual creator-focused conference held in Boise, ID) the company also announced the launch of new marketing and monetization tools to help creators become 6-, 7-, and even 8-figure businesses that include:
- An app store where anyone can develop and expand on top of Kit
- A central data hub with enhanced reporting you can use to pull insights
- An expanded Creator Network to help you find new collaboration partners
Additionally, Kit is investing in performance to ensure its platform works at a pace that keeps up with the busy lives of creators and is investing in the next generation by introducing the Newsletter Plan, which is free for up to 10,000 subscribers.
“Creators need a collection of tools and parts to create a valuable business. With our public rebrand to Kit, newly released tools, and a commitment to performance, we’re better positioning ourselves to give creators what they need, now. We’re really excited to be building the operating system for the creator economy.” said Nathan Barry, Founder and CEO of Kit.
Looking ahead to the future, Kit is excited about the ways the creator economy will continue to evolve. They have big goals for the role they plan to play in helping creators to build more valuable businesses.
